Good to know
How do I prepare for my Perma Lips procedure?
Lips heal quickly, but they are the most sensitive area. These steps keep them calm and your color true.
2–3 weeks before
- Cold sores: if you have ever had one, ask your doctor about an antiviral to start before your visit.
- Lip filler: none for 3 weeks. Botox: none for 2 weeks.
- Sun: no tanning or sunburn on the lips.
The last few days
- Gently exfoliate and moisturize your lips for 2–3 days.
- No alcohol, caffeine or energy drinks for 24 hours.
- Skip aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil and vitamin E for 48 hours, only if your doctor agrees.
On the day
- Come with bare lips: no lipstick or plumping gloss.
- Eat a light meal before you come. You will be with Holly about 3 hours.
- Lips look brighter and fuller for a few days. Plan events after that.
Please tell Holly before your visit if you are pregnant or nursing, take Accutane or blood thinners, are in cancer treatment, or have diabetes or an autoimmune condition.
How do I care for my lips after the procedure?
Day 1
- Every hour, gently blot your lips with a clean tissue and plain water. This keeps them clean and helps prevent infection.
- Apply the healing cream every time your lips feel dry.
- Swelling? A cool, wrapped compress for a few minutes helps.
First week
- Keep lips soft: cream whenever they feel dry.
- Drink through a straw for the first 3–4 days.
- No kissing, no spicy, salty or very hot food.
- No lip treatments: filler, scrubs, lipstick or gloss.
- No pool, sauna or steam. Don’t pick peeling skin.
What to expect
- Days 1–2: swollen and brighter than expected. This is normal.
- Days 3–7: light peeling. Color may look faded after it.
- Weeks 4–6: healed and soft: 40–60% of the color fades. The Perfecting Session completes it.
After healing
- If your doctor prescribed an antiviral, finish the full course.
- Perfecting Session 4–6 weeks after your visit. SPF lip balm keeps color longer.
Good to know: after your first session heals, 40–60% of the color fades, so it looks light and soft. This is normal. Your Perfecting Session in 4–6 weeks builds the color to your final result.
Call Holly and your doctor if you see blisters (a cold sore), spreading redness, pus or fever.
Does it hurt?
Most clients describe it as very comfortable. Numbing is used throughout, and some clients even fall asleep. One client compared it to Botox: “you know exactly what it feels like — it’s not even that bad.”
Can I have lips done if I get cold sores?
Please tell Holly at your consultation. Many clients take an antiviral before the procedure — ask your doctor.
How much does it really cost?
The price is always told up front. The procedure plus the Perfecting Session 4–6 weeks later make the full journey. The follow-up after that is complimentary. There is no deposit to book.
I have old permanent makeup. Can you work over it?
Please contact Holly first and send a clear photo of your brows, lips or lash line in daylight for assessment. Holly works on clean skin, so old pigment often needs to be lightened before a new procedure. After seeing the photo, she will tell you honestly what is possible.
Your first step is a free consultation
Holly draws the design on you first, so you see it before anything is permanent. Ask every question you have — there is no pressure to book.
